So since my last post I have been back to Labor and Delivery for more shots to stop contractions and to get two shots of steroids to strengthen the baby's lungs. Let me start from the beginning. On Thursday I went in for the first time (this store is on the pervise post) and was told that I needed to be off my feet just for the weekend and if I felt up to it I could go back to work on Monday so that is what I did. Well Monday afternoon I started feeling contractions again so I gave my doctor a call to see what she wanted me to do. This time though I had no pain so I didnt think anything of it but I definitely had more than 6 within an hour which is not good. So just like I thought she sent me to Labor and Delivery to get checked out and once again I was having contractions about 4-5 mins apart. They gave me a shot of the stuff to stop contractions and then wrote me a prescription for a pill form that I have to take every 4 hours around the clock. This means that I have to set my alarm clock at night every 4 hours to get up and take it. I know if I dont take it I will be in trouble because as soon as it wears off the contractions start again. After that I was also told that I am on complete bedrest until this little guy decides to make his appearance in the world. One good news is I am not dilated. So bedrest to my doctor means I can shower and it has to be less than 15 mins and go to the bathroom but than its right back to bed. :(
Its funny how much I hated doing things knowing that I had to do it, but now that I have been told I cant do anything its driving me crazy and I want to help my poor husband around the house and all that great stuff. But we both know its for the best and he is being a great sport about it.
So on Wednesday I went into my doc for my normal check up and she has decided that she wanted to do a round of steroids to get the lungs of the baby developed faster. So yesterday I had my first shot and today I had my second one. And man o man do those hurt. Its not the pock that hurts its the burning of the medication going through my body. I am just glad I only have to do this one cycle I thought they were going to do more. The only reason why they would do more they said is if I do go into labor and my water breaks and they test the fluid around the baby's lungs 24 hours before delivery they would do another dose to see what that does. So that makes me happy. I just hope they arent doing this to early but I know the doctor knows what she is doing. She has been a great OB from day 1.
So the first couple of days on bedrest has been hard and long but I know its for the best. I am searching online for things to keep me busy and Brandon has been doing well with sitting with me in bed, so its nice.
Well thats about it. More details to come later.

OFFICALLY ON BEDREST :(
Well today June 22, 2009 I was officially put on bed rest by my doctor. I was having some contractions throughout the day that started at about 11:30am. I wasn't to concern because there was no pain coming along with them. But after reading up on Braxton Hicks some more I found that if your stomach doesn't loosen up after a few short mins that can be a concern. So finally by about 2pm I called my doctor to see what she wanted me to do. And well just like I thought she sent me to labor and delivery at the Gateway Hospital. I got right in and they got me all hooked up to the monitors to check the baby's heart rate and see how the contractions were doing. The baby's heart rate was wonderful about 150 beats per min just where it has been from the beginning. However the contractions were coming on every 2-3 mins, but again no pain just very uncomfortable. The nurse ended up giving me a shot of stuff to stop the contractions it was called terbutaline I think. Lucky I only had to get one of those shots because it makes you shack really bad and also makes your heart race pretty fast. They say they can usually give you up to three shots within an hour and if that doesn't help the contractions stop they have to go from there. Well lucky me I didn't have to see what happens after three shots. After one shot the contractions stopped and the nurse called my doctor to let her know. I got the go head to head home but I have been told I am officially on bed rest until she says other wise. They also sent me home with pills of the terbutaline that I have to take every 4 hours on the dot. Which means I have to set my alarm clock. I am so annoyed but I know its best or I can end back in the hospital which I didn't want.
The nurse also checked for dilation and good news there I am not dilated. She said the contractions aren't strong enough to cause dilation but if they continue it can start that process so that means off my feet.
I have an appt on Wednesday morning with my OB to see what else she is going to have me do. But I think its bed rest until this little guy decides to come. I am really hoping I can make it to at least 35 weeks but I may be lucky and will make it full term if I am just off my feet.
Brandon is being a good sport about the whole thing. He is concern but he knows with the Lord on our side we will get through this and everything will work out. He has been very helpful and its so nice to see his sensitive side of things. :)
So that is the new baby update for me. Anyone that has nothing to do for the day is always welcome to come visit me just remember we will have to keep it down because Brandon sleeps during the day. :) And I have told myself I have to learn how to become crafty so I can keep myself busy while in bed.

WHAT A SURPRISE!!
So this afternoon Brandon decided to surprise me. He painted the whole baby's room by himself. I was so excited to see that it was finished. I thought that we were going to do it together but he said he thought I would like it better if he surprised me, and to tell you the truth I did. So I was able to get a few shots of him finishing up. He thinks the color is alittle to dark but I think it will look good once we get the green stuff added to it and get the crib up. I cant believe how close its getting, and I am glad Brandon did this for me. Thanks honey.
I will also keep adding more pictures as we keep adding stuff to the room.

NEW ROOM IDEA!!
Ok so Brandon really didn't want the brown and green strip idea along the wall. He thought it would look like a huge crib around the room. You can see that idea from a few post back. So anyways we came to a compromise on the room. He really wanted to keep it just white walls but when we repainted the room we used some old white paint that smelt awful for months after using it and it was so old you can see where we had to touch up things on the wall. So I told him that looked really tacky and I think we needed to add color to the room. So last night we went to Home Depot to look at some paint colors and we came to the agreement we would paint it a light tan color. I think its going to look great and I cant wait to get started on it. The color we choose is called Haystack. So once we get started I will get pictures of the before and after product.
On some other news in the room we finally got the photo equipment taken down and sent over to my folks house (thanks dad and mom for storing that stuff for us). And for those of you that don't know my younger and I were going to start a photo business and transformed that room into a studio but now that we are having this little guy we needed a new place. So we got all that taken down and my folks brought over the crib. Once we start the painting and finish that we will put the crib together I am so excited to see the finish touch.

BABY BOY AT 25 WEEKS!!
I had my ultrasound appointment this morning to see the growth of baby boy Bjarnson. Everything is going just like its suppose to which is wonderful news. The best part about having a high risk pregnancy is I get ultrasounds done every 4 weeks to see him grow and move around. Its so amazing that I am growing a child of God in me. So baby boy is weighing in at 1 lb. 4 ounces just where he is suppose to be at. Usually he is not very active during the ultrasounds and doesnt want to show off his beautiful face but today we were able to get three wonderful shots of him. Hard to believe that you can tell what your child will most likely look like when they are born. But from these shots I think he is going to look alot like his mommy (sorry Brandon) but he totally has an Esklund nose (my father's side and I totally have it) and a Cline chin (my mother's side.) I dont have the Cline chin as bad but its pretty much that you have no chin at all and this little guy doesnt look like he is going to have much of a chin. I am sure he will have his daddy's height and stubbornness so he will take after both of us. :) Well I have one more appointment with my normal OB to see how much I have gained and how much my belly has grown.
So my half of the doctors appt went well. They arent doing much but starting in two weeks they will be doing all the fun stuff. I will be getting tested for the diabetic thing and they start doing appts every two weeks until Aug time and than I go every month. I cant believe how close its coming so crazy. But anyways I have gained 10 lbs since my last appt 4 weeks ago. I am not sure how that happened because I really havent changed my diet other than cutting back on sweets and soda because it makes me sick if I do to much of that. My doc was alittle concerned but its like you want me to gain weight and now you want me to slow down can you please make up your mind. I have only gained 15lbs this whole pregnancy so I dont think that is bad at all. 15 lbs in 6 months and I only have 3 months left I think I wont be that bad if I gain another 15lbs because most women gain anywhere between 25-30lbs the whole time. Plus I was under weight anyways so I am like whatever. Anyways it should be good the next appt but we shall see.

MATERNITY PICTURES!!
So here are some maternity pictures that my younger brother took of me when I was at 23 weeks along. Some of them you cant really tell that I am pregnant but I still think that they turned out great. I dont have anyone that I really like of just me but I really like the basketball one of Brandon and I. Brandon really wanted that one done so he is going to love it when he sees it I think.
