MY TODDLER BOY!!

My baby boy is no longer a baby boy. He just turned 2 at the end of August and I am so behind on what he has been doing lately its crazy how fast they grow. Miles is now 26 lbs which is in the 50th percentile, 37 inches 90th percentile. So as you can see he is still tall and lean just like his parents. As of today Miles is talking so much its crazy what he says and comes up with. His doctor said by this time he should be using about 40-50 words and combining sentences he however is way over that and has been doing sentences since 18 months. He loves to play with cars and mommy's Iphone, everyone specially his Grandpa Ken gets a kick at how he navigates through my phone with no troubles and knows what he is playing and what he wants to play. His favorite games are Angry Birds and talking Ben. Miles is still going to Daycare and has enjoyed it so much he comes home talking about his best friend Harper Grace and how he has so many other friends that he plays with. We are working on potty training but we have been for awhile but I am not doing it hard core yet. Miles will sit on the potty but once he starts going he gets scared and stops I am most likely going to start working on it within the month with his Daycares help. He also has figured out how to climb out of the crib so we are going to have to move him into the big boy bed. Any advice on this would be great. I am thinking we will go to the store and he can pick out his bedding and see if that will help with the transition. Miles is still the best toddler I have met and I am not saying that because he is my son, I am saying it because I see how other children act and his teachers are always saying he is well behaved. We do have our moments dont get me wrong but I think I got pretty lucky.
For his birthday we had a bubble theme because this kid loves bubbles. He had a few friends comes to the event and some couldnt make it but we still had a great turn out. We got a kiddy pool and filled it up with bubbles so they had a mini bubble bath to play in. We also had a bubble machine and each friend was able to bring a couple of bubble tubes home. We enjoyed lots of food, coloring and cupcakes at the end. He got lots of great toys that he enjoys playing with specially the car from the Garrett kids :).
I will do my best to keep updates on how he is doing and what the new 2 year old stage will bring to our family. Enjoy the picture overload and more to come once we get his 2 year old pictures back from my brother.

GROWING UP!!

I cant believe I havent updated my baby's blog in so long. Time sure does go by and before you know it your baby is only 2 months away from turning 2 years old. Everyday is a new adventure with Miles and it makes me sad that I have slacked on such milestones in his toddler years. My goal is to blog at the end of every month so I can make sure that can have stories to tell Miles when he gets older, and have the blackmail stories to tell his future girlfriends. HAHA just kidding!!

Anyways like I said Miles is going to be 2 at the end of August and he has learned so much over the last time that I blogged. He is talking so much and is coping everything that we do or say sometimes it makes me and Brandon laugh. On this post I have a video of him saying something that his dad taught him. And that would be the word "OOO Nosy." Whenever Miles did something that was wrong or split something Brandon would say "o nosy" so now Miles thinks it so funny and does it himself.

Brandon was talking to a friend at work the other day and she told him by this age Miles should be saying about 50 words and we are thinking back to if he does say that and I think he is on top and over beyond the words. He is starting to use sentences and saying words or signs on what he wants instead of fussing about it. Some of the words that Miles is saying now are: Mommy, daddy, you, mine, grandpa, names of family members, slide, wawa (water),apple, nana (banana), more, please, thank you, what's that, blocks, shoe, socks, shirt, kick kick kick, toons (cartoons), sit, pooh (for pooh bear), anky (blanket), illow (pillow), ight (light), potty, bath, airplane, copter (helicopter), bird, go, I think you get the point within all these words that he is using he puts them together to make a sentence such as "mommy go potty." Its so funny to watch him talk to himself and learn more words.

We started doing the potty training with Miles when he turned 18 months but I am not to set on making it a big event yet. I just wanted to introduce him to the big potty so he wouldnt be afraid of it and every once in awhile he will tell me that he has to go and he will. I think once he turns two I will be more consistent on it because diapers are way to expensive to provide for home and daycare.

I am excited to see my baby or should I say boy keep growing and see his new adventures that he brings through out the day. Enjoy the pictures and I will write next month.

PHOENIX ZOO TRIP 2011!!

Today we were able to take Miles to the Phoenix Zoo for the first time and it was the best trip to the Zoo ever. He had a great time and was not afraid to get up close to the animals. He would laugh so hard when he was able to touch an animal and see the long tongue of the giraffe gets it food. I look forward to taking him again.

A DAY OUTSIDE!!

Since it was a nice day today I figured Miles and I would hang outside for a bit. For Christmas Miles got a swing set from his grandma and grandpa Bjarnson so it makes being outside even better. Here are a few shots of him having a good time.
Also I figured I would give an update on how Miles has been doing. He will be 18 months at the end of this month, which is so hard to believe. Time sure does go fast and I think we are all enjoying every minute of it. Miles is still going to day care 4 days a week and enjoys it so much. We get progress reports every day and the notes are so positive. Because he goes to Day care I think it will be so much easier on him to go to Nursery for Church at the end of this month. :)
Some things that Miles does that makes us laugh is dance to all times of music. He knows how to turn on the radio to my alarm clock and once the song stops and goes to a commercial he turns the radio right off. He is so smart it makes me so happy. He is signing up a storm and loves to do his animal noises.

Some Signs that he knows are: More, Please, Thank You, Cookie and All Done.

Animal Noises he knows are: Horse, Sheep, Dog, Bear, Lion, Monkey. We are working on the kitty and pig.

I have been trying to get a video of him doing those things but once the camera is on its no go. Anyways enjoy the pics and I will hopefully post again soon.

MILES' CHRISTMAS 2010!!!

This year for Christmas we spent it with Brandon's parents. We spent the night on Christmas Eve so we could get the day started on Christmas morning. Miles had a great time spending time with his cousins and getting to know them better. Here are some pictures from the eventful Christmas. More to come from Christmas Eve and Christmas at our place. He is enjoying everything he got except for the new swing set from Grandma Charolette and Grandpa Ken because its still at their place. :) Enjoy everyone.

MILES'S DAY AT THE PARK!!

While we were in California our little condo that we were staying at had a small park for the kids. My dad was kind of enough to stop and let Miles play for a bit on the slide and Miles LOVED it. He would not stop laughing as he was going down the slide. Here are just a couple pictures of the fun he had.

I REALLY AM A GOOD BOY!!

So I am so glad I waited to meet Santa this year. I didnt have to deal with the long lines at the mall because my ward for church had Santa for our ward Christmas party and he was an awesome Santa. Miles on the other hand didnt think so. Everyone did warn me though that he wouldnt be happy this year when he met Santa and they were right as you can see!!

FALLING BEHIND!!

Now that I work its hard to find time to update blogs, but I finally got around to it. Miles is now 14 months and he is getting to be such a smart, fun, energic, amazing etc. etc. etc. little boy. He is finally walking non stop and did it towards the end of Oct. Its nice because now when we are out we can just set him down and hold his hand and he will walk. However he is getting into everything. He was before but now its worse. He is still doing great in daycare and has now gotten to the point where I can drop him off and he wont even cry. He just waves and blows kisses and does his thing. It makes me sad but at the same time very happy that he is so independent. He is learning alot which is so wonderful to see. He loves to sit in his room and read some books and go around the house and says "Whats that". There is a video on here of him saying that. He can also blow kisses which just melts my heart.
For Halloween this year he went as a monkey and I went as a banana. I thought it was clever. He had a good time once we got started. He knew what to do and that was dig into the candy when we went to the doors. Luckily he did know only to crab one at a time. :)
We took him to his first dentist apt a couple days ago. I wanted to take some pics but my camera was acting up so I will just do it at his next one in 6 months. He did an awesome job and the doc said he has a mouth of a 2 year old. He was shocked that his 1 year old molars are fully in (have been since 9 months of age), and that he has up to 16 teeth. That is totally not normal for a 14 month old. But they are coming in fine and he has no cavities. Miles loves brushing his teeth though so I am glad about that.
Anyways he is doing good so enjoy the pics and the videos of my little guy.
